Sightline EDM 6.0.5 Release

At Sightline Systems, we prioritize continuous improvement, reliability, and transparency. The release of EDM 6.0.5 introduces updates that make the platform even more efficient, secure, and responsive for your team.

Smarter User Management with SCIM API Integration

With 6.0.5, EDM now supports SCIM API compatibility, allowing for automated user provisioning and deprovisioning. If your organization uses centralized identity management tools, this makes managing access to EDM faster and more secure. You can create, modify, or remove users directly through SCIM-based systems to reduce manual errors and ensure that only the right people have access to your data environment.

More Accurate Reporting and Visualization

This release improves the accuracy and behavior of several key chart and report functions. These changes reduce confusion and give operations teams a clearer picture of what’s happening across their systems.

Statistics charts in reports now update when the report is refreshed, ensuring that all data is always up to date when viewed or scheduled.

We’ve also upgraded the reporting experience with new Show All / Top / Bottom display options added to Table and TopList charts. These controls allow users to focus on the most relevant data points without getting lost in long lists.

Several behind-the-scenes fixes resolve inconsistencies when working with aggregated data in forecasts or correlations. EDM now handles summarized and live data more reliably during analysis.

These enhancements make it easier to identify trends, investigate issues, and act on insights with confidence.

Enhanced Security and Control

Security and system control improvements in this release include:

  • A new Absolute Timeout option that enforces a maximum session duration for users, separate from the standard idle timeout. This is configurable and improves access governance across your team.
  • Support for SNMP authentication using SHA-256, enabling EDM to securely communicate with more network devices including Checkpoint firewalls.
  • Improved handling of scheduled reports in environments where port 8080 has been blocked, ensuring that email delivery continues without interruption.

These updates provide stronger safeguards and better compatibility for security-conscious organizations.

Cleaner Upgrade Process and Configuration Handling

EDM 6.0.5 includes refinements that improve the reliability of upgrades and system configuration. Key changes include:

  • Removal of a database backup step in the installer that had caused upgrade failures in Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Prevention of errors caused by null values in the admin database during upgrades from earlier versions.
  • Fixes that ensure summary file settings are correctly applied when creating API-based data connections.

These updates simplify system maintenance and reduce the risk of upgrade-related issues.

The Platform Behind Better Decision-Making

EDM 6.0.5 reinforces Sightline’s mission to deliver reliable, real-time operational intelligence. Whether your team is focused on anomaly detection, capacity planning, predictive analytics, or system-level cybersecurity, this release helps ensure your data tools keep pace with your business goals.
